

It amazes me to see trees thriving on a rock face. This is the cut to allow Hwy 518 to pass through the Amola Ridge in the La Cueva area.
The Mora River flows under the road to the other side at this point.
A voice from out in the rural back country of northern New Mexico - from the Mora Valley at 7500 feet. I live on the eastern slope of the Rockies where the high plains meet the mountains - on the high plains to the east, you can still see where the Santa Fe Trail ruts run through the fields.
